BEIT SALMA

Beit Salma is situated in the heart if Nørrebro originally an old bookshop. The design brief for this project was to create a space that felt homely. Material, colour, and shape play, played a huge role to execute the design and circulation intension.
The Gatti being familiar to an everyday chair was the primary choice to spread throughout the space. Accompanied by a simple block like stool with soft tones from beige to brown allowed the desired seat capacity to fulfil its guest while at the same time not feeling to formal in structure and layout. The blend of the two loose seats as a duo, balanced the overall physicality of the rooms.
The choice of ash veneer for the built in elements of furniture was intended to feel light being that is was fixed in place, therefore not taking too much presence. Soft curves and play with sections of the space, the decision was to make sure all areas in the space felt relaxed and diverse, this made it tricky at times while gathering multiple textures and finishes but making sure that they can all marry if switched around or moved to fulfill dinner events.
